School of Theology

As the center of ministerial-theological education of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the South Philippines, the School of Theology maintains to stand tall in the area of ministerial-theological education having in its core values Jesus Christ as the true example of excellence. It is also the flagship of Mountain View College’s academic and spiritual excellence.

When Mountain View College was founded in 1953, the training of church workers in the ministry was among the first courses offered in the College. In latter development of the College’s academic program, the Bachelor of Arts in Theology was under the School of Liberal Arts. In 1998, the School of Theology was born.

With our current degree programs, we further aspire to offer a graduate degree programs in ministry, theology, history, and biblical studies.

MISSION

The School of Theology, the flagship of Mountain View College, produces biblically and theologically trained ministerial works and Christian professionals; who are mission-driven, Vision oriented, and Christ-centered – light in the community and beyond.

OBJECTIVES

  1. Promote and fulfill the spiritual objectives of MVC.
  2. Prepare competent, highly motivated, and consecrated ministers, Bible teachers, church workers, and lay members for the task of fulfilling the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the South Philippines and throughout the world.
  3. Develop in the students a love of the Word of God as a guide to Christian faith and living, enable them to serve effectively as learners and teachers of the Word.
  4. Develop in the students an active life of faith, prayer, worship, and service to God, their fellowmen, and country.
  5. Prepare ministerial students for graduate programs in religion and theology.
