School of Nursing

Mountain View College School of Nursing is recognized by the government (Department of Education) grant effective July 3, 1972, to a Five-Year Collegiate Nursing Course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

The MVC School of Nursing has graduated a total number of 2,172 nurses since 1972 – 2016. They serve in almost every continent of the globe. They work here and abroad either under the auspices of the Seventh-day Adventist Church or the secular health care industry. Others find their way into traditional areas of employment. Some of the alumni hold important positions in their institutions and varied health care institutions of learning.

Mountain View College- School of Nursing endeavors to provide an Adventist nursing education that prepares students for Christian service, reflecting God’s Love in teaching and practice.

SCHOOL OUTCOMES

Bachelor of Science in Nursing – Program Outcomes:

  1. Apply knowledge of physical, social, natural, and health sciences and humanities in the practice of nursing.
  2. Communicate effectively in speaking, writing, and presenting using culturally appropriate language.
  3. Engage in lifelong learning with a passion to keep current with national and global developments in general, and nursing and health developments in particular.
  4. Demonstrate responsible citizenship and pride of being a Filipino.
  5. Uphold the nursing core values in the practice of the profession.

Second-year level Learning Outcomes

At the end of the second year, given a normal and high-risk mother and newborn, child, family, communities, and population groups in any health care setting, the learners demonstrate safe, appropriate, and holistic care utilizing the nursing process.
