MVC Delegates Join 2026 Learning Innovation Summit at MSU-IIT

ILIGAN CITY — Mountain View College (MVC) joined educators, researchers, and government education leaders from across the Philippines at the 2026 Learning Innovation Summit, held August 19–20 at MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT).

Representing MVC were Dr. Carthy Joy Aguillon, Dr. Flordelys Montecastro, Mrs. Monyfer Porquez, Dr. Mennen Pearl Talibong, and Dr. Jose Manuel Espero, Dean of the School of Theology. The two-day summit featured workshops and sessions on artificial intelligence, literature, technology, innovation, and other emerging areas in education.

A highlight for MVC was the plenary presentation of Dr. Talibong, who presented the School of Education’s paper, “Learning, Leading, and Serving: The Lead–Teach–Transform Model for Holistic Teacher Preparation.” Among the papers submitted to the summit, the MVC paper was one of only two selected for plenary presentation.

The LTT Model highlights MVC’s holistic approach to preparing future teachers through authentic experiences in leadership, teaching, and service. The initiative primarily advances SDG 4: Quality Education and also supports SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through collaboration and knowledge-sharing among educational institutions and stakeholders.

Through its participation, MVC continues to contribute to conversations and innovations aimed at strengthening education in Mindanao and beyond.
